The Best Fitness E1 is a premium elliptical trainer that offers a low-impact training workout.

It has received numerous accolades, and we thought it would be a good idea for us to review this fitness machine.

However, it similarly has distinct drawbacks, which I also thought it would be a good idea if I shared them with you.

That said, let me take you through the E1 elliptical trainer review.

What Makes E1 Elliptical Trainer Awesome!

  • Motion and Sturdiness

First thing first, the E1 has plenty of numerous features that help to promote sturdiness and smooth elliptical motion. For starters, Body Solid, the E1 creators have patented a center drive design that shrinks the overall footprint of this machine, making it solid and compact.

More importantly, however, the machine comes with an extremely low center of gravity that helps to keep it securely in place during your workouts.

  • 21-Inch Stride Length

The stride length on the E1 is 21 inches, the highest we’ve come across so far. The generous length on this model makes it an incredible option for both the short and the tall individual. As you would expect from a premium machine, the stride on this model feels smooth and very natural.

The smoothness on the machine largely boils down to the center drive system that ensures the shape o the machine is biomechanically correct. Besides a smooth performance, this technology also has the added benefit of ensuring that users are kept in an upright position for ultimate safety.

  • Liquid Crystal Display

With a large crystal display, reading your workout data on the E1 is easy as it can get. Here, you can easily check on all your performance metric statistics including speed, time, calories burned and more.

Unique Features that Make Best Fitness E1 Elliptical Trainer by Body Solid Interesting

Structure

The E1 features a powder-coated steel frame for enhanced durability and strength.

A long-lasting machine, the E1 will easily stand up to the external elements and will easily take a beating without compromising its integrity.

Compact

One of the features I like most with the E1 is the compact footprint.

Elliptical machines are notoriously large and bulky, so when I see a compact one, I always do a double-take.

At only four feet long and two and a half feet wide, the E1 is a space-spacing model, and it doesn't take much space in my apartment.

The compact design is mostly due to the center drive design we had earlier mentioned.

With this technology, all the elliptical machine components are contained inside the main body as opposed to having a large flywheel out front.

Generally, this model needs minimal space for a workout, as well as storage.

That said, though it's a compact model, it pretty weighty, and with a weight of 215 pounds, it's not a machine that you can easily move around on your own.

Weight Capacity

The weight capacity on the E1 is 275 pounds, which I feel it’s a bit lower, especially compared to models within its class.

After all, most of the models normally have a generous weight capacity of 300 pounds.

Either way, it's still a decent capacity, and it's capable of holding even the adult and moderately over-sized individuals.

Foot Pedals

The placement of the foot pedals on the E1 was carefully engineered to eliminate instances of possible stress on the hips.

For starters, the pedals are positioned low to the ground, and this makes getting on or off the machine quite easy.

The pedals are further padded to enhance comfort and prevent instances of slippage during the performance workout.

The best feature, however, is the placement of the pedals.  The pedals have been positioned close to each other, and this helps to take the stress off the hips.

Handlebars

Like a majority of the elliptical machines, the E1 similarly comes with two pairs of handlebars.

The static handlebar is fitted with the pulse sensors, and it will make it easier for the users to get an accurate reading of their heart rate.

The second pair is movable and ergonomically designed for users who are looking to exercise their upper body.

12 Programmed Workouts

The E1 has several built-in workout programs to choose from, and this ensures that you can easily tailor your workout exactly to your liking.

However, this is one area where I find the Body Solid E1 lacking.

The E1 only provides 12 programmed workouts.

While it is still a decent number, numerous lowly-priced elliptical machines provide nearly twice as many as the built-in workouts.

A second gripe regarding the workout options is a majority of the elliptical machines feature interfaces with online apps that provide endless amounts of workouts.

Variable Resistance

With a variable resistance system, the E1 will help to further add to the challenge and allow for growth as your fitness improves.

However, we were a bit disappointed by this machine as it only comes with 17 levels of resistance, which I feel is on the lower side.

I mean, most of the average elliptical machines have anywhere from 25 levels of resistance, so, yes, this was quite a deal-breaker.

If anything, I'm not sure these levels of resistance are adequate for experienced and professional athletes.

What We Like About the E1

  • Compact: E1 is a compact and space-saving model that will easily fit in a majority of the apartments.
  • Easy to use: The E1 is a frill-free model, which users find easy to operate. In particular, the large LCD monitors make it easy to access all the essential performance metrics.
  • Solid and Sturdy: Sporting a solid steel frame design and a low center of gravity, the E1 is sturdy and durable too.

What We Didn’t Like About the E1

  • No incline: A huge deal-breaker on the E1 is the lack of incline levels, a feature that is common in a majority of the trainers in its class. The absence of the incline translates to less variability and flexibility on the users.

Bottomline & Verdict

Sure, the E1 might have a fair share of drawbacks, including the lack of incline and restricted adjustability, but we've to admit it's a performer.

It has all the necessary components you would require for your training regimen.

And though it’s not suitable for the professional athletes, it makes an incredible choice for the beginners as well as intermediary trainers.
