The ProForm Endurance 920 E elliptical is the top model in the endurance series, which is the most advanced series in the ProForm lineup, only second to the Pro Series.

This front-drive elliptical is an upgraded version of the earlier 520 E and the 570 E models.

A solid choice for the serious workout enthusiasts, this new model encapsulates what other base models offered, with additional features and performance.

For instance, it has an extensive range of workouts programs, more resistance levels, and a heavier flywheel.

Uniquely, however, this 2016 model carves itself from its sibling by having an iFit capability, making it the only trainer in the Endurance series to support wireless connection through the internet.

With so much on offer from this trainer, I know you would be interested to know whether it's suited for you. This is the reason we've created this ProForm Endurance 920 E Elliptical review guide.

What Makes ProForm Endurance 920 E Elliptical So Awesome?

0-20” Digital Quick Incline

The biggest benefit of elliptical machines is that their motion entails both horizontal and vertical movement, so you get to target more muscle groups than you do on a traditional treadmill.

The 920 E is a step ahead, though.

Featuring a digital inclination feature, it’s now easy to increase the realism of your workout by the press of a button.

The incline, also known as the ramp, lets you alter the slope of your workout, thus helping you to work the different muscle groups, as well as cross-train effectively.

Generally, the incline simulates real training, and it improves on the intensity of your workouts.

iFit Ready

As we had mentioned in the introduction, the 920 E is the only model in the Endurance to have iFit capability.

iFit connects your elliptical to the internet, and from here, it's easier to track your workouts over time, graph them, and even set new goals.

This technology can also bring you instructor-led workouts in the comfort of your home, and so, it’s easier to get the drive that will push you harder.

7-Inch Touchscreen Display

At the core of the 920 E, we’ve a large and high-definition 7” touchscreen display.

Here, it's easier to monitor all your performance statistics, including speed, heart rate, distance traveled, and more.

Unique Features that Make ProForm Endurance 920 E Elliptical Interesting

Design

Proform has used the same commercial-gauge solid steel in all their previous Endurance series, and it's no different on the E 920.

Overall, the design feels solid and isn’t going to breakdown anytime soon.

Dimensions and Weight Capacity

Proform 920 E has a dimension of 66 x 17 x 31 inches and weighs 225 pounds.

Admittedly, Proform 920 E is not the most compact elliptical trainer, and it will require a large space for usage and use.

The same case applies to the weight; it’s not light either, and it’s not possible to move it on your own.

However, the weight is beneficial in several ways, most notably; it increases the sturdiness on the machine so that it doesn’t wobble even during the rigorous workouts.

When it comes to the weight capacity, Proform 920 E ties with its immediate step-down, the 720 E at 325 pounds, which I think is decent enough since most of the trainers have their capacity at 300 pounds.

Handlebars

Like many elliptical trainers, the 920 has two sets of handlebars; the stationary and movable.

There’s nothing unique on the movable pair, only that its adjustability allows you to engage your entire body with every step you make.

The pedals take care of your legs, while the adjustable handle lets you work on your core, back, and upper body.

On the fixed handlebars, you'll find an integrated EKG Grip Pulse Heart Rate Sensor that, among other things, monitors your real-time heart rate.

The sensors are designed in such a way that within seconds of gripping, you'll see the accurate reading of your heart rate.

The good thing with both pairs of handlebars is they’re rubberized to promote greater comfort and a non-slip experience even during the intense workout sweating.

Stride

The 920 E comes with a 19” stride length, which I must say is pretty impressive. If anything, few of the elliptical trainers have the stride length greater than 15”.

The 920 E is an excellent choice for family environments and will even allow the taller individuals (above 6 feet) to enjoy a complete leg motion.

Unfortunately, the stride can’t be adjusted in isolation like that of Captiva Plus Cardio Core by Yowza Fitness, but still, it’s not much of a deal-breaker.

Pedals

The pedals on this elliptical have been upgraded, and though the Endurance Series has had their pedals adjustable, it’s only on the 720 E and the 920 E models that the pedals have been given some love by adding cushioning.

The cushioning provides adherence contact, which helps to reduce the impact of your stride, thus protecting your joints and knees.

Another useful feature on the pedals is the articulation set for improving the overall comfort.

Drive Train and Resistance

Like any other ProForm elliptical bike, the manufacturer has opted for Eddy Current braking system, which has less friction and no wear on the flywheel.

Speaking of the flywheel, this elliptical has a heavy-duty 25-pound inertia-enhanced flywheel that combines Silent Magnetic Resistance (SMR) to deliver smooth and seamless transitions between the levels.

The Proform offers 24 of these resistances, which, in my opinion, will provide a sufficiently challenging resistance even to the most serious athlete.

What We Liked About ProForm Endurance 920 E Elliptical

  • Noiseless: ProForm Endurance 920 E features a Silent Magnetic Resistance that delivers an ultra-quiet operation, free of disturbance.
  • Large Console: The mighty console on the ProForm Endurance 920 E is large, and notably, it features a large 7" display that shows all your performance stats.
  • Cooling fan: A cooling fan is nothing out of the ordinary in trainers, but it's an enviable feature on a machine at this price range. The same case applies to the tablet holder, built-in speakers, and drinks holder.

What We Didn’t Like About ProForm Endurance 920 E Elliptical

  • Lacks Safety: Safety is a priority for home equipment. Now, for the elliptical machines, we've been reviewing, such as Nordic Track 12.9 Elite, we've seen several security systems, including simple locking pin and password protected display mode. Unfortunately, these features lack the 920 E but, it’s not surprising, either, especially for an elliptical at this price range.

Bottomline & Verdict

The ProForm Endurance 920 E is no ordinary elliptical trainer.

While it can't be classified as a commercial elliptical trainer, it has all the features you would expect in a heavy-duty machine.

Despite the richness in features and incredible performance, ProForm Endurance 920 E comes at a budget-friendly price tag.
