There’re plenty of best budget option elliptical machines in the market.

But unfortunately, most of these low-cost machines are rather flimsy types, and they don’t tend to last for long.

With that said, there are several inexpensive elliptical machines, though, which pack up some quality, and one such machine is the Sunny SF-E905 magnetic.

The Sunny Magnetic is an entry-level elliptical trainer that offers a safe and low-impact workout, and since its launching, it has been consistently praised for its build quality and strength resistance.

It’s also quite a compact model, and it’s designed to fit into the smaller and compact spaces.

While it might not provide you with the performance, you need for the high-intensity aerobic cardio workouts, it's decent enough for your daily workout.

But is this machine fit for you?

Let’s find out what's in the Sunny SF-E905 review below.

What Makes SF-E905 So Awesome?

1. Price/quality Ratio

For a budget elliptical trainer such as the Sunny Magnetic, I've to admit that this elliptical trainer is well-built, and it offers just the amount of comfort, performance, and the settings you need for your workouts.

While it might not have the frills we see in some of the premium models, this budget option is performance-oriented to say at the least and will provide you with the true value for your money.

2. Footprint

Sunny Magnetic is among the smallest elliptical trainers in the market, ideal for small apartments, offices, or where space is premium.

Sporting a modest dimension of 28 L x 17 W x 57 H, the Sunny Magnetic is quite a compact unit, and it’s even easy to store this equipment in your closet.

3. Integrated Pulse Sensor

Integrated sensors are not new in elliptical trainers, but few of the low-cost elliptical trainers have them.

This sits well in my books because it's now easier to monitor your heart rate during exercising, without the need to break a bank.

What Makes SF-E905 Interesting

Design-Build

Sunny Magnetic consists of a single unit solid steel frame that is coated with anti-corrosive gray paint.

This elliptical machine is as solid as it can get, and it doesn’t skimp on performance.

Instead, despite the budget tag, it’s well-made and durable too.

Weight Capacity and Dimension

Sunny Magnetic is not a bulky fitness machine, and actually, it has quite a subtle profile, especially when compared to other ellipticals.

However, the small footprint on this machine makes it unsuitable for use by the tall users. This is because they might not benefit from the complete pedal movement and because the machine might wobble or move during the high-intensity workouts.

When it comes to weight capacity, the Sunny Magnetic’s capacity is a bit on the lower side (220 lbs), but it was not a surprise considering what we paid for this model.

Handlebars

Sunny Magnetic is valuable exercising equipment that comes with 2 sets of handlebars.

One pair is stationary, and it's integrated with a pulse sensor that helps to keep tabs of your cardio output.

The second pair is flexible, and the moving handlebars add to the overall flexibility of this machine, and will especially give your upper body a higher workout.

The good thing with both the handlebars is they feature a multi-grip design that promotes a comfortable position for the user.

They also feature rubber-foam padding that promotes a much better grip so that even when your hands become sweaty, you're less likely to slip.

Pedals

The foot pedals on the Sunny Magnetic are rather enlarged, and so, they can accommodate most sizes of feet.

Better yet, they feature an anti-slip design, which makes them safe to use.

Stride Length

Unfortunately, the stride length on the Sunny Magnetic is rather small and non-adjustable.

Measuring at 11", taller users or those above 6 ft won’t achieve the full stride.

While I’m not implying that taller users won’t benefit from this machine, what I mean is they will have trouble running or walking at a fast pace.

Resistance

Sunny Magnetic has eight levels of magnetic resistance.

Varying the resistance is easy as you simply need to turn the knob to increase or decrease the resistance.

Still, even at the highest resistance, the Sunny Magnetic is not challenging enough for the professional athletes.

Sure, while levels 7 and 8 will generate quite a burn on your glutes, thighs, and calves, the resistance is not sufficient enough for the professionals.

Drive System

The Sunny elliptical is based on a magnetic brake system, and this is to mean that it results in smoother and noiseless performance.

Therefore, the Sunny Magnetic will the noise from your lifestyle, and it’s easier to work out while watching TV, or even without disturbing others as they sleep.

The magnetic system does not wear due to friction, and so, this machine is generally long-lasting and requires minimal maintenance.

Console

Being a budget option, the progress tracker on the Sunny Magnetic isn’t exactly the most sophisticated unit.

However, though, it does the basic elements, including a goal-setting function, heart rate display, alarm function, and it can track metrics such as speed, time, calories, distance, and more.

The good thing with the console is that it’s easy and straightforward to operate.

What We Liked About Sunny Magnetic

  • Compact: The space-saving element on this elliptical machine cannot be overemphasized. Contrary to the bulky fitness machine, this unit is modest and will allow you to use and store it wherever you please.
  • Inexpensive: The second benefit of the Sunny Magnetic is that it will not set you back pocket-wise, because it comes is a super friendly price.
  • Simple: Sunny Magnetic is a simple and frills-free model that is easy to use and operate.

What We Didn’t Like About Sunny Magnetic

  • Resistance: While we appreciated the flexibility in the resistance levels, we would have loved to see higher levels of resistance that would accommodate the professional athletes.

Bottomline & Verdict

Sunny Magnetic might not be a premium fitness bike, but it has everything you need to keep fit, especially for the daily workouts.

This model is not designed for the professional athletes, but it can cater to the casual, lightweight, and medium users who are looking nothing more other than keeping fit.
