Let's admit it’s a challenge to balance work and social life; let alone keeping fit.

Now, if you’re one of those who spend most of their time glued on a computer screen and hunched into their “comfortable” orthopedic chairs, you all well know that you’re leading a sedentary lifestyle.

There's no difference between you and a food junkie who spends most of their time catching their favorite shows on Netflix.

But the good thing is, it's still possible to turn things around.

But how do you do it without sacrificing on your work?

What Makes Sunny Health & Fitness SF-E3872 So Awesome?

SF-E3872

Stability

Generally, under desk, elliptical machines are compact and less bulky.

The SF-E3872, for instance, weighs a mere 24 pounds. With such a lightweight stature, stability is always a big concern.

Surprisingly, despite the lightness of SF-E3872, this model is quite stable.

The presence of two-wheel stoppers, for instance, prevents your chair from rolling when pedaling.

While it doesn’t offer the stability provided by upright elliptical machines, this model won’t wobble when pedaling.

It stays in place, and better yet, the pedaling motion is smooth and free of any interference.

8 Resistance Levels

SF-E3872 might be small, but it’s a highly capable elliptical machine, offering up to eight levels of resistance to control the intensity of your workout.

Sure, the resistance levels are a tad lower than what you would expect in an entry-level standing elliptical, but we've to admit for an under-desk machine, eight levels of resistance are quite a feat.

However, we don't know the specificities of the performance results on this model, as we had earlier seen on the Desk Cycle. But from the reviews, it’s evident that this elliptical will provide you with a fair share of fitness results including burning calories and lose of weight.

Portability

One of the benefits of an under desk trainer is portability.

Weighing at a measly 24 pounds, SF-E3872 is easy to pack and move around with.

It means with this elliptical; you can never fail to work out, regardless of where you are.

Better yet, it has a modest dimension, allowing you to place fitness anywhere you choose.

Unique Features that Make Sunny Health & Fitness SF-E3872 Interesting

Pedals

Pedals are necessary to keep your feet safely, while at the same time providing momentum.

Fortunately, the pedals on the SF-E3872 are up to the task.

For starters, they're large enough to accommodate any size of athletic feet.

Secondly, the base is textured, and so, it's easy to maintain a safe footing, regardless of how hard you work out.

With the SF-E3872, you’ll no longer have to worry about your feet slipping off or even injuring yourself.

What I like about the pedals is they maintain the natural motion of your legs.

Unlike the under desk bicycles with a circular motion, SF-E3872 promotes the natural flow of your body, similar to walking, cycling, or climbing stairs, and so, you can achieve the full fitness benefits of this machine.

Drive System

Under the hood of this elliptical trainer, you’ll find a magnetic drive system.

Though the magnetic drive system is a standard among many elliptical machines, it has numerous benefits, including low maintenance and smooth operation.

When in use, it delivers a smooth and seamless pedaling experience, free of any "bumps."

The major benefit, however, is that it’s noiseless because the moving parts hardly come into contact with each other.

So, it’s possible to use this machine even in an office setting where silence is required, without having to nag your co-workers or even your boss.

LCD Monitor

SF-E3872 console

For easy tracking on your exercise progress, this machine has a centrally located digital monitor.

From here, it's quite easy to track the various performance metrics, including time, calories burned, speed, and distance.

Alongside the tracking element, you can choose to use the scan function and scroll through the entire variable while working out.

Unfortunately, unlike the Desk Cycle, the digital console is not detachable, and so, you might have a hard time tracking since you can’t place the console on the table.

Either way, it satisfied the digital tracking role, and it does so incredibly and with accuracy, which I think is what matters most.

What We Like About Sunny Health & Fitness SF-E3872

  • Noiseless: SF-E3872 results to quiet and noiseless operation, and hence suited for any office environment.
  • Easy to Assemble: Assembly of the SF-E3872 is a cinch, and you simply have to use four screws, which are provided by the elliptical.
  • Compact: The SF-E3872 has a modest dimension, and will easily fit into any of the smaller spaces, including the space below your desk. The machine is also discrete and maintains a low profile, so even no one will even know you’re working out.

What We Don’t Like About E3872

  • Light flywheel: The flywheel on this model is quite light. Weighing 3 pounds, I can assume it would not be an ideal fit for the serious athletes.

Bottomline & Verdict

The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-E3872 is a discreet and low-profile under elliptical desk trainer that will allow you to work out while performing your daily tasks.

Unfortunately, it’s not the serious fitness enthusiasts, but rather those looking for lightweight workouts or even spice their sedentary lifestyle.
